After chatting about creating this kids teepee a few times with my friend, I finally just decided to do it. Made out of a queen size sheet it was so easy and only took an evening to make. It's the first time I've ever applied what I did in trigonometry! My maths teacher was right!

This year we were inspired to brighten up our school a little and took on the mammoth task of painting a few rather large white walls. We decided a Dr. Seuss painting was what was needed and here is the results of a couple of terms painting.
This weekend we celebrated my beautiful Godson's 1st Birthday. His very clever mummy and I put together a Very Hungry Caterpillar themed party. You can find some of the printable templates below.
.I've always had a fascination with mobiles... in fact I think if I was an artist I could spend years creating mobile sculptures. I think it's something to do with their graceful movement giving the illusion of defying gravity and how they change depending on where you stand and look at them. I created this mobile for my godson's 1st birthday! Despite the obvious ropes these balloons look weightless, colourful and full of joy!
After hours and hours of hand embroidering (which I am very happy with since I just made it all up having never done it before)... I've finally finished the front of the Peter Rabbit Cot Quilt. Now to pick a border and start quilting it together!
Yoyos have been trendy for quite some time now and I just realised how easy they are to make! I saw some hair clips like these for sale at a ridiculous price so I decided to make some myself as little gifts to give.
My friend from work is expecting a baby in November and I have been dying to make a quilt using my bargain $2 Beatrix potter fabric purchase. Here is a sneak peak of the colours and the start of my embroidery work.
Today I made a soft case for my iPad to stop it getting scratched. I just made it up (like almost everything I do)and I like how it turned out. Fits my iPad and smart cover and let's me keep my iPad safe without putting it in a bulky case.
Jemima
I made Jemima about a year ago to be a teaching aid in my junior music classes. She comes all the way from Play School each week to the prep/1/2 music classes and likes to sit quietly with kids in the class and help them feel happy when they're sad, or confident when they are shy. I never anticipated what a hit she would be and now Jemima is loved by students from p-6 and often goes home with them over night. Many of her friends also like to make her things like necklaces and friendship bracelets and some have even made their own Jemima! |
